The Best Hotels For Every Budget In Paris

Paris is a city of 20 arrondissements and thousands of hotel rooms. Finding needles in these hotel haystacks isn’t easy, but it is doable—even on a budget. And if you’ve got money to spend, get ready to envelop yourself in your wildest Parisian dreams. Whether it’s a Veuve Clicquot bubble bath, room service with Eiffel Tower views or a stylish suite made for photo shoots, you’re daydreaming of, you can make it a reality here.

And while you won’t find five-star luxury without dropping big money, it is possible to find a clean, comfortable place to sleep for around $100 a night. Here are four for budget travelers to big spenders in the heart of the City of Light.

ProTip: Paris is among the more expensive European capitals you can visit. You’ll want to adjust your hotel budget and expectations accordingly.

Hôtel Barrière Le Fouquet’s $$$$

This five-star luxury hotel on the famous Champs Elysees is a short walk from the Arc de Triomphe, but it may be hard to convince yourself to leave the hotel. This is a luxury property that frequently hosts fashion photo shoots and glitzy events and some suites come with everything you could need for a perfect Parisian staycation—including deep soaking tubs, expansive closets, idyllic terraces, even a private gym.

The property also has a pool that boasts its own art gallery, a spa, a seasonal rooftop bar and a restaurant that’s long been a favorite of French celebrities.

You’ll have to drop several hundred dollars a night to stay at Foquet’s, but this hotel will make the bill feel worth it. So go ahead, and pour yourself a glass of your favorite bubbly and settle in for a hotel stay you’ll never forget.

If a room here is out of your budget, have dinner at the Foquet’s restaurant, whose menu includes a couple of vegetarian options, or have drinks at the hotel’s rooftop bar or interior garden.

Pley Hotel $$$

This upscale Parisian hotel is a glamorous ode to yesteryear, and the rooms here are huge—even by American standards. If you’re a digital nomad with a big budget, this is the kind of place you might want to settle into.

I booked a room with a sizable balcony that felt almost like the perfect studio apartment. It had a desk with a stool and a comfortable chair. There was a table and chair on the balcony and ample closet space.

The decor is gorgeous and the details are on point at this hotel, but there are a few things I would change. The pillows on the bed were tiny and felt even smaller in such a large room. Plush towels and big fluffy robes would make it feel like a more upscale experience.

The Pley Hotel’s lobby and ground-floor bar make for interesting people-watching. There are lots of laptop-friendly nooks for working remotely outside of your room. There’s also a gym and a seasonal rooftop bar serving healthy eats, non-alcoholic beverages and Kombucha drinks.

Maison Mere $$

This boutique property in the city’s 9th arrondissement may just be my favorite Paris hotel. The Maison Mere oozes local charm within walking distance of the Sacre Coeur, but you’ll want to book early to snag its most affordable rooms.

The Maison Mere opened in mind-2021 and has just 51 rooms. Even the smallest of this boutique property’s rooms is bursting with character. You can expect to melt into the hotel’s plush bedding and a steady supply of warm towels thanks to in-room towel warmers. And while rooms are small, they do have enough space to hang up clothes and sit with a laptop.

The family-owned and operated hotel doesn’t have a gym, but there is an excellent onsite restaurant and bar as well as a lounge that’s perfect for working remotely.

Hotel Cabane $

This affordable boutique hotel in the city’s 14th arrondissement is steps from the Paris metro and within walking distance of Montparnasse Cemetery. It has sleek and stylish common areas and rooms that are spacious by Paris standards with prices starting around $100 a night.

My room had a Juliet balcony, which I loved, and a shower and sink that felt a little bit like they were in the middle of the room, something I was far less fond of. The hotel’s custom toiletries are made in Cyprus, where the hotel’s owners are from, and come in large refillable bottles.

Hotel Cabane has a standout breakfast with freshly baked croissants that are included in the room price, and a tranquil garden perfect for journaling. And when you check-in, you’ll be offered welcome cake. I’m not sure it gets better than that at $100 a night in Paris.

And if you’re looking to spend your time in Paris sitting in cute cafes, you’ll love this neighborhood.
